​The hearing on the merits in the Grand River Enterprises Six Nations, Ltd., et al. v. United States of America case is scheduled to take place before a three-member arbitral tribunal from 9:00 a.m. on Monday, February 1, 2010 through Friday, February 12, 2010.

This case has been initiated under Chapter Eleven of the NAFTA and is governed by the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules. ICSID is administering the proceedings in this case.

The parties have agreed to make the hearing open to the public, except for those parts which involve confidential matters. The hearing will be broadcast live in room MC C1-200 of the World Bank. The room, which has limited seating, is located at 1818 H Street, N.W., Washington, D.C., 20433. Members of the public wishing to attend are requested to provide to Ms. Katia Yannaca-Small (kyannacasmall@worldbank.org), Ms. Ivania Fernandez (ifernandez1@worldbank.org) and Ms. Sherrifa Akanni (sakanni@worldbank.org) of ICSID their names and e-mail addresses in order to arrange for access to the broadcast room. Visitor passes will be issued upon presentation of a valid picture ID. The passes will allow access to room MC C1-200 only.

Cameras and recording equipment are not allowed on the premises.

The tentative schedule is as follows:

February 1, 2010:       Parties' opening arguments (two hours each for the Claimants and the Respondent); Witness examination

February 2–11, 2010: Continuation of witness examination

February 12, 2010:     Parties' closing arguments (two hours each for the Claimants and the Respondent); Tribunal questions to the parties
