​On June 10, 2015, Gonzalo Flores, ICSID Team Leader/Legal Counsel, participated on a panel on investment arbitration at the 10th International Arbitration Conference, “The Evolution of Arbitration in the Last Decade”. The conference was hosted by the Spanish Arbitration Club (Club Español del Arbitraje) as part of Madrid Arbitration Week. The panel on investment arbitration was moderated by Juan Fernández-Armesto and fellow speakers included Nigel Blackaby and J. Eloy Anzola. The panel discussed investment arbitration in its historical context. Mr. Flores offered his perspective on the current state of international investment arbitration, focusing on the contemporary challenges of the system and major areas for potential development. 

The conference was held in Madrid from June 8th through the 10th and was followed by two days of academic and social events. The conference was held in Spanish.
