​The hearing on jurisdiction and the merits in the Merrill & Ring Forestry v. Canada case is scheduled to take place before a three-member arbitral tribunal from 9:00 a.m. on Monday, May 18, 2009 through Saturday, May 23, 2009.

This case has been initiated under Chapter Eleven of the NAFTA and is governed by the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules. ICSID is administering the proceedings in this case.

The parties have agreed to make the hearing open to the public, except for those parts which involve confidential matters. The hearing will be broadcast live in room MC 6-N300 of the World Bank. The room, which has limited seating, is located at 1818 H Street, N.W., Washington, DC, 20433. Members of the public wishing to attend are requested to provide to Ms. Alix Ahimon (aahimon@worldbank.org) and Ms. Eloïse Obadia (eobadia@worldbank.org) of ICSID their names and e-mail addresses in order to arrange for access to the broadcast room. Visitor passes will be issued upon presentation of a valid picture ID. The passes will allow access to room MC 6-N300 only.
