​ICSID is looking for highly promising students or recent graduates to assist the Secretariat on a variety of projects during the summer (May – August 2015). The selected candidates will help with the preparation of activities and publications to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the ICSID Convention. They will also carry out research on a range of issues, and will work on a number of institutional projects. 

Eligibility

  • Undergraduate degree and be enrolled in, or have recently graduated from, a law program (e.g., JD, LLB, LLM, or equivalent)
  • Have an interest in public international law and international investment arbitration
  • Fluency in English and preferably in at least one of the other two official languages of ICSID (i.e., French and Spanish) 
  • Strong writing and legal drafting skills in English – experience with legal publication would be advantageous
  • Strong research skills - ability to conduct research on a range of issues in the fields of arbitration and investment law
  • Advanced information technology skills 
  • Highly organized approach to work
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, adapt to shifting work demands and deliver high-quality results

Terms of Employment

The positions will be located in Washington, D.C. The selected candidates will be hired as Short-Term Temporaries and will receive an hourly salary. They will be responsible for their own travel and living accommodations.
