​ICSID has launched a global employment search for a Deputy Secretary-General.

In accordance with the ICSID Convention, the ICSID Secretariat shall consist of a Secretary-General, one or more Deputy Secretaries-General and staff.  The Deputy Secretary-General is elected by the ICSID Administrative Council on the nomination of its Chairman, the President of the World Bank Group.  The ICSID Convention also provides that during the Secretary-General’s absence or inability to act, and during any vacancy of the office of the Secretary-General, the Deputy Secretary-General shall act as Secretary-General.  The Deputy Secretary-General reports to and acts solely under the direction of the Secretary-General.

The Deputy Secretary-General will work closely with the Secretary-General on a series of key, high-level initiatives.  As part of the ICSID management team, s/he will also work closely with the Secretary-General and Team Leads on individual and systemic issues arising in ICSID proceedings.
