Designations of Courts or Other Authorities for Recognition and Enforcement of Awards (ICSID/8-E)

Article 54(2) of the ICSID Convention requires Contracting States to designate the competent court or other authority in its State for purposes of recognition or enforcement of an ICSID award.  This complements Article 53 of the ICSID Convention which provides that an ICSID award is binding on the parties and that each party must abide by and comply with the terms of the award except to the extent that enforcement shall have been stayed pursuant to the ICSID Convention.

ICSID maintains a list of the designations by Contracting States under Article 54(2) of the ICSID Convention.
