The University of Pretoria will be offering its special online programme on the Promotion and Protection of Foreign Investment in Africa from May 3 through June 23, 2022.

The programme is a flexible and one-of-a-kind introduction to the law and policy fundamentals of investment protection on the African continent. It is made up of the three following modules:

Module A: Introduction to International Investment Law (3 May - 13 May 2022)

Module B: Fundamentals Negotiating and Drafting Investment Agreements (24 May - 2 June 2022)

Module C:  Theory and Practice of Investor State Dispute Resolution (14 June - 23 June 2022)

The curriculum is developed and presented by leading international industry and practice experts who — through a unique and holistic blend of theoretical and practical discussions — guide attendees through contemporary legal and policy aspects associated with investment law, the agreements governing the relationship between investors and states, as well as how disputes can be addressed.

Aïssatou Diop and Paul Jean Le Cannu will discuss ICSID dispute resolution as part of Module C. Further details on the programme and the different modules (A, B, and C) are available here:
