This course is aimed at legal counsel of Chinese and foreign enterprises in China and lawyers practicing in international dispute resolution, with presentations by the Secretariat of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) and interactions with renowned scholars or practitioners of international investment law. Over four sessions, the course will focus on: 

(i) The purpose of investor-State dispute settlement (ISDS), investment treaties, and the ICSID system
(ii) Case registration and jurisdiction
(iii) Case-related procedures, including selection and constitution of tribunals, hearings and awards
(iv) Annulment and enforcement of awards
(v) Current developments in ISDS in multilateral fora (i.e. ICSID and UNCITRAL)

Simultaneous interpretation in Chinese and English will be provided for in-person and online participants. The training is free of charge; however, space is limited. Participants will receive a certificate of participation.
