The main hearing room (Room A) at the World Bank Group Conference Centre in Paris, France has been upgraded and is now available for ICSID hearings, with new and enhanced high-tech features and a modernized interior.
In roughly half of all cases, disputing parties elect to hold hearings and sessions in Paris. The World Bank Centre now has three state-of-the-art hearing rooms and an additional hearing room scheduled for construction. Room A in Paris can accommodate hearings of any size and technical complexity, and all hearing rooms are supported by a dedicated and experienced IT team for public hearing broadcasts, video links and other technical matters.
ICSID hearings are held worldwide at any venue agreed by the parties. To assist the parties, ICSID arranges hearings and video-links at World Bank offices around the world or at the facilities of institutions with which it has cooperation agreements.
In addition to upgrading the interior design of the Paris main hearing room, new upgrades include the following technological features:
World Bank hearing rooms are available in all cases administered by ICSID and may also be available upon request in non-ICSID cases. If the parties wish to hold hearings at other locations, ICSID has arrangements with institutions around the world to offer access to facilities at cost-effective rates. The room rental of hearing and breakout rooms at any World Bank facility is included in the administrative fee in cases administered by ICSID under the ICSID, UNCITRAL and other dispute settlement rules.
