The Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR), the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the International Mediation Institute (IMI) and the International Energy Charter have designed jointly a 3-day mediator training course tailored for investor-State disputes. The course is scheduled to take place on June 12-14, 2017 at ICSID's facilities in Washington, D.C.

Individuals who have completed basic mediator training or have practical experience as a mediator will have the opportunity to participate in 2 days of interactive instruction with an accreditation assessment on the 3rd day. Participants who successfully complete the course and assessment will become certified CEDR Mediators in Investor-State Disputes.

This training will cover the context and framework of investor-State dispute settlement, considerations specific to investor-State mediation, intercultural competency, process design and conduct of an effective investor-State mediation, and ethical challenges, among other topics.
