Proposed Amendments to the ICSID Rules and Regulations

The members of the ICSID Administrative Council are currently voting on the amendments proposed by the Secretariat to the ICSID Rules and Regulations. The proposed amendments are the result of a process that included extensive consultations with governments, arbitration experts and business and civil society groups.

The proposed changes, in particular, reflect comments received in response to the Secretariat’s Working Paper of May 12, 2005 on suggested changes to the ICSID Rules and Regulations; and the Secretariat's Discussion Paper of October 22, 2004, on possible improvements of the framework for ICSID arbitration.
